The Saskatchewan Trucking Association a new staff member: Jordan Ewart. He is the STA’s new full-time policy analyst. Jordan was born and raised in Saskatchewan. He pursued his education in Manitoba, obtaining a B.A. in International Development Studies, which focuses on history and processes of economics, sociology, and politics. In this field, the focus can be as large as international affairs, but can also be narrowed to local development in community. He is finishing a second B.A. in Conflict Resolution.

Before joining the STA, Jordan served on the Menno Simons College Student Association as the communications coordinator. He also had the opportunity to complete an internship in Tanzania with organizations Canada World Youth and Youth Challenge International; a program where local entrepreneurs applied for grants and micro-credits to help develop and run their small businesses. Jordan did his practicum with Local Investment Towards Employment (LITE) in Winnipeg. LITE is an organization that does similar work: it provides partners with the funds they need for training and employment programs.

Jordan’s role at the STA will be to help develop and disseminate policy and information for STA members. He will attend information sessions and stay on top of new and developing policy to provide STA members with the best and most up-to-date information. Jordan says that he looks forward to being an advocate for the transportation industry and wants to advance the voice of the industry as he continues with his new career.
