MTA Associate heads national insurance association
The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) is the national voice of property & casualty insurance brokers and an advocate for insurance consumers. IBAC represents their interests to the Government of Canada.
Dale Rempel, President of Rempel Insurance Brokers Ltd. of Morris, MB was appointed President at the IBAC annual meeting held in Banff, AB on September 24, 2011.
IBAC is governed by a Board of Directors which consists of brokers from across Canada. They contribute their time, expertise, and knowledge to drive an aggressive agenda. An insurance broker represents the consumer and provides insurance products from more than one insurance company.

He joined the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba (IBAM) in 1996 and became President of IBAM in 2003. He was asked to let his name stand and was elected to the IBAC Executive in 2008 as Vice President. Rempel Insurance specializes in providing a high level of customer service in auto, home, farm, commercial and transportation insurance.

Livestock transport companies merge
Steve's Livestock Transport of Blumenort and Funk's Livestock Transport of Steinbach are merging into one larger entity to meet ongoing changes in both the livestock and transportation industries. Steve Brandt, President of Steve's Livestock Transport, said both companies looked for efficiencies with some success. "However, we found it necessary to look for long-term sustainability and as a result came to
the conclusion that a merger was the best solution."
Effectively immediately, the two companies will operate as Steve's Livestock Transport based out of Blumenort. The expanded company includes, in addition to moving livestock across the continent, the ability to haul dry goods and refrigerated goods through a subsidiary, Dawson Road Transfer.
It also has wash bays and repair shops in Blumenort, Brandon and Acme, AB. The expanded company will employ 250 drivers, office workers and related personnel.
