BCTA appoints new President & CEO

The BC Trucking Association (BCTA) has appointed Louise Yako as President and Chief Executive Officer effective June 1, 2011.

Louise has served BCTA for the past 15 years, first as Manager of Government and Inter-Agency Affairs, then as Director of Policy and Communications and most recently as VP of Policy, Communications and Partnerships.

She brings to her new role extensive experience with BCTA policy development and advocacy initiatives as well as firmly established relationships with government contacts and those of other organizations. As President and CEO she will be responsible for the overall management and direction of BCTA and for promoting the interests and image of its members and the industry to governments, the business community and the public.

She has trained with the Institute of Corporate Directors and holds an MBA from UBC and an Honours Bachelor of Journalism with Political Science from Carleton University.
